Copyright and Licensing Policy

Authors publishing in the Global South Journal of Applied Research (GSJAR) retain copyright in their work. Authors grant GSJAR the non-exclusive right of first publication and permission to publish, distribute, reproduce, preserve, index and identify the journal’s published version as the authoritative Version of Record.

Unless an article states otherwise, content published by GSJAR is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International Licence, CC BY-NC-ND 4.0.

Under this licence, users may copy and redistribute the unadapted material in any medium or format for non-commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the author or authors and GSJAR, a link to the licence is supplied, and no indication is made that the author or journal endorses the user or the use.

The licence does not permit distribution of modified, remixed, transformed or adapted versions without separate permission from the copyright holder. It also does not permit commercial use without appropriate authorisation.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that photographs, figures, tables, instruments, scales, datasets, maps and other third-party material are used lawfully. Necessary permissions must be obtained before publication. Material excluded from the article’s Creative Commons licence must be clearly identified.

The copyright notice, licence name and licence link must appear consistently on the article webpage and within the published article file.

Nothing in this policy limits lawful exceptions and limitations to copyright. Requests for uses outside the standard licence should be directed to the copyright holder and, where relevant, copied to editor@gsjar.org.
