Privacy Statement
The Global South Journal of Applied Research (GSJAR) collects and processes personal information necessary to operate its submission, peer-review, editorial, publication and communication systems.
Information may include names, usernames, passwords in encrypted form, email addresses, institutional affiliations, ORCID identifiers, postal details, professional interests, author biographies, correspondence, submission records, review activity and technical information generated through use of the website.
The journal uses this information for registration, identity verification, manuscript processing, peer review, editorial communication, publication, indexing, preservation, system security, reporting and administration. Names, affiliations, ORCID identifiers, biographies and contact details intended for publication will be made public only in accordance with the journal’s publishing practices and the author’s submission.
Reviewer identities are protected under the journal’s double-anonymous review process, except where disclosure is legally required, necessary to investigate misconduct, or expressly authorised by the reviewer.
Personal information will not be sold to advertisers or unrelated third parties. Access is limited to authorised editors, staff, service providers and technical administrators who require the information for legitimate journal operations.
Users should avoid entering unnecessary sensitive personal information into manuscripts, review forms or correspondence. Research-participant data must be anonymised or otherwise protected in accordance with ethical and legal requirements.
Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards will be used to protect data, although no internet-based system can guarantee absolute security.
Requests to access, correct or remove personal information may be sent to contact@gsjar.org. Certain records may need to be retained to preserve the integrity of editorial decisions, published articles, legal obligations and the scholarly record.
