Post-publication Discussion Policy

The Global South Journal of Applied Research (GSJAR) supports responsible scholarly discussion after publication as part of the continuing evaluation of research.

Readers may submit evidence-based comments, critiques, replication findings, methodological observations or notices of possible error to editor@gsjar.org. Correspondence should identify the relevant article, focus on the scholarly content and avoid defamatory, abusive, discriminatory or speculative accusations.

The journal may invite the original author to respond. Where the discussion makes a substantive contribution, GSJAR may publish it as formal correspondence, a commentary, an author response, a correction or another clearly labelled item linked to the original article.

Comments will be assessed for relevance, accuracy, civility, competing interests, confidentiality and ethical compliance. The journal is not obliged to publish every response or extended exchange.

Allegations of misconduct will not be adjudicated through public comment alone. They will be handled under the Research Misconduct Policy, with appropriate confidentiality and due process.

Editors may correct factual errors in metadata or publication records and may initiate a formal investigation when post-publication discussion reveals a substantial concern.

The journal will not remove legitimate scholarly criticism merely because it is unfavourable to the author. At the same time, it will not provide a platform for personal attacks, unsubstantiated allegations, disclosure of confidential information or repeated bad-faith submissions.

Post-publication debate does not alter the Version of Record unless the journal issues a formal correction, expression of concern or retraction.
