Policies and Transparency

The Global South Journal of Applied Research (GSJAR) follows clearly stated editorial, ethical, access, rights, business and transparency policies in support of responsible scholarly publishing. This page serves as the journal’s central policy and compliance hub.

GSJAR is committed to academic integrity, editorial independence, fair peer review, transparent publication practices, protection of research participants, responsible use of emerging technologies and preservation of the scholarly record. These policies apply, as relevant, to authors, reviewers, editors, editorial-board members, journal staff, invited contributors and the publisher.

The journal’s editorial and review policies include the Peer Review Policy, Reviewer Guidelines, Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement, Plagiarism Policy, Competing Interests Policy, AI Use Policy, Authorship and Contributorship Policy and Research Misconduct Policy.

Its access, rights and author policies include the Open Access Policy, Copyright and Licensing Policy, Author Fees and APC Policy, Privacy Statement, Preprint Policy and Data Availability Policy.

Its research-integrity policies include the Human and Animal Research Ethics Policy, Corrections Policy, Retraction Policy, Complaints and Appeals Policy and Post-publication Discussion Policy.

Its journal-transparency policies include the Ownership and Publisher Statement, Publication Frequency, Archiving and Digital Preservation Policy, Other Revenue and Funding Statement, Advertising Policy and Direct Marketing Policy.

These policies should be read together with the journal’s About, Aims and Scope, Submissions, Author Guidelines, Editorial Board and Contact pages. Where a policy is revised, the current version displayed on the journal website will apply from its stated effective date. Substantive changes will not ordinarily be applied retrospectively in a manner that unfairly disadvantages authors whose manuscripts are already under consideration.
